Ergonomic Box Cutter Handle

Ergonomic Design
January — February 2022
Stanford, CA
Conventional box cutter handles are often flat, narrow, and awkwardly angled, excluding people with limited grip capabilities. Using task analyses and anthropometric databases, I developed a foundation for the ergonomic design of this handle. I used pink foam modeling and RULA assessments to rapid prototype and test, and I used Fusion360 (CAD & surface modeling) to create the final design and rendering.

The timeline of this project was 3 weeks, and the expectation for the final deliverable was an interactible pink foam model of our final design and a surface modeled render of the proejct.
